PHOTOGRAPHY
The experience of living and visiting cities as complex and diverse as Caracas, Panama, Mexico, or Havana, has fueled my interest in recording through photographs, in aesthetic terms, the relationships between the visual, space, and people. The focus of my artistic approach is interdisciplinary because architecture and urban design are integrated into the photographic concept. My connection with the visual is every day, as an architectural photographer and close observant urbanite.
In addition to aesthetics, my records are driven by an interest in documenting how people and groups that live in a disputed space creatively appropriate their circumstances. This interest is not new because, since my wanderings around Caracas, I have been committed to registering the "domestication" of hostile urban spaces by disadvantaged people and social groups. Exploring the possibility that these historical captures serve as witnesses of the political, cultural, and city-time through the artistic eye.
